Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev secured his first title for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The Russian, a former number one, has endured a challenging season, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in especial - led to him falling of the top ten and eventually parting ways with former coach Cervara.

Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.

It is the player's initial title since the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt after March of 2023.

The win also signifies the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one various events.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, featuring in that event in the past months.

The player's counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on court had led commentators to question if his skill to compete at the top level was over.

However the player has made changes in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

He came back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the last five games to take the lead.

Both players exchanged break points in the second set before Moutet, striving for his initial ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to push for a final set.

He saved four initial break points in a tight final set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, he earned the title with a shot at the net area, with his opponent failing to control a volley after a lengthy match.
