It's a challenge for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a squad that has won it all.

It needed until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the possibility.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to deliver her newest gem.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

Whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

"The possibility to go out there and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

Once she was dismissed the team needed 66 more at run per delivery - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the confidence to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if we do, we are confident we can achieve it."

Those words will be the last competing nations at this tournament need to hear.

During the last week a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this success succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy couldn't play because of torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she wished she had played with the discomfort.

However although she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have postponed plans to retire, this World Cup is expected to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as skipper.
